*The Hand of the Exmortis is pivotal to the Exmortis trilogy of flash games. It is considered a prophecy ("What is, What Was, and What will be") that has yet to be fulfilled in the first game, and is fulfilled to the detriment of the human race in Exmortis 2. The Hand is also a character in the game, the hunter who is the main character in Exmortis, becomes the hand by fulfilling the prophecy and murdering five innocents. The Hand in a more literal sense, is the physical embodiment of a gateway or portal between the ethereal realm of the Exmortis and the corporeal realm of Earth. The Hand is destroyed by Mr. Hannay at the end of the second game, thus "freeing" the world from the hordes of the Exmortis.

'Twas about 12:00 at night. The Hunter I was to possess was slowly giving up on it. Always finding himself lost amnesiac in the forest beside the double-story abandoned house. He can search it all he wants, after all.... Its a murder house....It was his doing, mostly. With the weapon of an axe, he cut through he wall to the basement after exploring for a bit. He found he dead body of a Hiker here. He killed it the last time he was here..... And then he finds himself at the end of the passageway again. I gave him his options, "Die by trying to run...or...solve this puzzle and become my materialized body" He chose the last one.
